Specialist Support...
Services for Individuals
We utilise a number of core approaches to support people in the way they would like us to.
To achieve this, we use a number of tools and approaches to place the individual at the centre of their support to help us understand their preferences, needs, aims and aspirations. This is called a person-centred approach.
We provide support for adults and children with a learning disability, complex needs, acquired brain injury, physical disability, dementia, mental health needs and autism.
If you are a family member of a disabled person looking for support, please visit our family’s section.
Our Core Approaches
Our service aims to deliver the best possible support to people with complex and multiple disabilities.
The following approaches are core to how we deliver support:
- Active Support is a way to enable people to participate in all aspects of their lives
- Effective communication is key to building relationships and getting needs fulfilled
- Person centred thinking helps our staff form creative approaches to individuals
- Person centred planning tools help us plan for support now and in the future
- Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) means that we look to change situations and events that people experience in order to increase their quality of life and reduce the likelihood that challenging behaviours will occur
